The song was cute and very catchy. I remember the single's sleeve featuring a very silly-looking Stacey Q on the cover. Perhaps she wasn't taken very seriously after that very bubblegum-like persona.
It's on Spotify. I was lucky to snag a vinyl copy once and liked it better than her debut. I do get why she wasn't bigger, though. I agree with what Dan said. Also, guesting on sitcoms probably didn't help.
You stress how important MTV was to the success of Two of Hearts. One of the reasons Stacy Q failed to click in the UK may have been that few homes in Britain at the time actually had access to music television due to endless delays in the rollout of cable. I was commuting into London back then and one of the attractions of the workplace was the availability of MTV which was only being selectively offered in my hometown out in the provinces. Whilst major stars like Michael Jackson had no trouble getting their promos screened nationally on the BBC's Top of the Pops, videos from lesser known pop acts with strong visual appeal like Stacey Q often went unseen by many
I can't remember when we had access to MTV for the first time in Belgium. I know we were one of the first countries with good quality cable access so it must be early but the song did not work in Belgium either. I think that it was a bit to American. The Smash Hits quote was a clear indication. Thanks for reading & reacting Paul !

Good point Dan. I didn't think about that. Thanks for reading & reacting !

Hard Machine is such an underrated album.
Must listen to that one. I only know her debut album which has some nice songs, apart from the big hit. Thanks for reading & reacting ME
